  a couple trailers
trailers for fall awards season movies seem to be trickling out this week, so here are two.

first, if you can stay awake through the trailer for frost/nixon you are a better man than me. it is the new movie by stephen frears (the queen), and it has seemed dull to me since i first read the description on imdb: "a dramatic retelling of the post-Watergate television interviews between British talk-show host David Frost and former president Richard Nixon" *yawn yawn yawn yawn yawn* in any case, lots of movies don't sound too interesting on paper, but end up being really compelling. (think, sideways). i really don't think this is one of them. i just pray this doesn't get a best pic nom, so maybe i can avoid seeing it.

the second trailer is for spike lee's miracle at st. anna. this is definitely not a movie i was really looking forward to seeing. i didn't know it has joseph gordon levitt in it though, and i will see absolutely anything he is in, no matter how stupid it may be (think, stop-loss). in any case, this trailer is unbelievable. the movie looks absolutely amazing, and it is now on my i-can't-wait-til-it-comes-out list. i definitely think now that the trailer is out this movie is gonna be boosted to the top of critics' best pic contention lists.
