  john hughes is gone
gawd today sucks. i just got home from an completely terrible day at work. and i click on the computer and am immediately faced with some incredibly sad news. one of my all time favorite film makers has died. john hughes is responsible for quite a few of my favorite films: breakfast club, sixteen candles, pretty in pink, vacation (et al.), the great outdoors and planes trains and automobiles. although he has been retired for at least a decade now, i always sort of thought he would do some sort of comeback film eventually which would launch him into a renewed critical spotlight. i guess that will never happen. life bites.
